Live-In Caretaker / Driver, Central London | £55k – £65k GPA + Accommodation

A private family based in Holland Park is looking for an experienced Live-In Caretaker with strong handyman and property maintenance skills to look after their newly refurbished London residence.

This is a large, state-of-the-art property finished to the highest standard, suited to someone with a strong knowledge of residential property maintenance who is confident carrying out repairs and maintenance themselves, identifying issues before they become problems, and managing specialist contractors when required. The role will also involve driving the family when needed and providing a reliable live-in presence to oversee the security and safety of the property.

The Caretaker will work closely with the House Manager and wider household team, taking a proactive approach to the maintenance and presentation of the property and ensuring all works are completed to the highest standard.

Handyman & Property Maintenance

Day-to-day handyman duties, repairs and preventative maintenance across the property.

Good practical knowledge of plumbing, basic electrics, carpentry, decorating and general repairs.

Regular property checks and upkeep of fixtures, fittings, appliances, gardens and plants.

Identifying issues early and arranging specialist assistance where required.

Contractors & Ongoing Works

Overseeing contractors, coordinating access and supervising works.

Keeping on top of ongoing works, snagging and outstanding jobs.

Liaising with trades and ensuring works are completed to a high standard.

Security & Caretaking

Providing a reliable live-in presence and ensuring the property is safe, secure and well maintained.

Regular property checks and management of access for contractors and visitors.

Taking responsibility for the property when the family is away and dealing with issues as they arise.

Driving

Driving the family and guests throughout London as required, including airport transfers and appointments.

Maintaining vehicles and ensuring they are clean and presentable.

Candidates will ideally have experience working in high-end residential properties, with strong practical maintenance skills, excellent knowledge of property upkeep and the ability to liaise confidently with contractors and specialists. They must be a confident driver with a full UK driving licence, comfortable driving in London and further afield when required. Security-conscious, discreet and trustworthy, they will take pride in their work, have high standards of workmanship and attention to detail, and be happy to “muck in” as part of a household team.

Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 GPA

Accommodation: Excellent accommodation within the main house

Schedule: 5 days on / 2 days off
