Residence Manager, Private Villa, Northern Italy, EUR 130k GPA

Our client is seeking an exceptional hospitality professional to lead the team at a beautiful property in Northern Italy.
This is the most senior position within the villa team, reporting directly to the Principal's private office, and is a rare opportunity for a hospitality professional with a genuine service pedigree to take full ownership of standards, service, and staff.
This is a varied role, ideally suited to someone who leads from the front, sets the standard by example, and has experience managing a team and ensuring they are well briefed and ready for whatever the day has in store.
You will be the first point of contact at the villa, ensuring every guest experience is seamless, warm, and efficiently delivered.
The Role

  • Heading up the household team and holding ultimate responsibility for its performance and standards

  • Leading service delivery across the household, from family visits to large-scale entertaining

  • Managing and coordinating a household team of 5–15 (seasonal flex), including rotas, recruitment, training, and appraisals, with final sign-off on staffing decisions

  • Planning and running dinner parties, events, and offsite gatherings for up to 40 guests

  • Overseeing wine cellar management: organisation, stock levels, and log keeping

  • Setting up and maintaining service standards, manuals, and household inventories

  • Liaising with suppliers and contractors, and leading delivery of larger projects such as refurbishments

  • Managing household budget and payroll administration alongside the finance team

  • Arranging household provisions and maintaining supplies

  • Ensuring the property is guest-ready at all times, coordinating arrivals for family and visitors

  • Acting as the primary point of contact between the household, contractors, and the family office team

  • Assisting with reservations, transport bookings, and errands as needed

The Candidate

  • Extensive front-of-house and service experience gained in high-end restaurants or hotels

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience as a Head Butler or House Manager within a private UHNW household, ideally having held the senior household role

  • Genuinely hands-on: happy to be on the floor, not behind a desk, while still comfortable holding full authority over a team

  • A natural leader, confident directing and motivating staff and making final decisions on how the household runs

  • Fluent Italian and English

  • Excellent, checkable references

  • Discreet, calm under pressure, and impeccably presented

  • Flexible and available by phone when required

  • Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office)
