Head Butler, Live In or Live Out, Surrey – Up to £60k GPA

A unique opportunity for an exceptional Head Butler to lead a dedicated service team at a stunning second residence in Surrey. This is a beautifully managed, fully staffed household with a warm, professional culture and top-tier standards.

You’ll oversee all front-of-house operations — from formal dinners and private events to daily hospitality. Working closely with the Estate and House Managers, you’ll lead a team of butlers and footmen, ensuring service is delivered with absolute discretion, precision, and polish.

This role suits someone who truly understands what world-class private service looks like and knows how to deliver it effortlessly.

Duties:

• Lead all front-of-house service across the estate

• Manage and mentor a team of junior butlers

• Plan and execute service for VIP events, dinners, receptions, and family functions

• Coordinate seamlessly with chefs, housekeepers, and security

• Oversee wines, silver, tableware, and linens

• Provide hands-on service, setting a gold standard for the team

Ideal Candidate:

• Background in UHNW households or luxury hospitality

• Confident leading formal service and managing a butler team

• Calm under pressure, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused

• Discreet, professional, and service-driven

• Strong knowledge of silver service, fine wines, and event protocol

• Flexible, hands-on, and happy to adapt to changing schedules

Days/Hours:

Hours will vary when the client is in residence, with slightly longer days. When away, core hours are Monday to Friday, 9am–6pm.

Start: ASAP; candidates with up to 1 month notice will be considered.

Salary: £55k–£60k gross per annum.
