We are looking for a live-in domestic couple to care for a beautiful country property just outside London. The family have other homes overseas and are not in residence full time, so the couple will be responsible for keeping the house running smoothly in their absence. When the family are in residence, the couple will support the day-to-day upkeep and service to ensure everything runs seamlessly.

Duties will include:

  • Housekeeping of a large, traditionally finished home

  • Laundry and ironing to a high standard and wardrobe management

  • Polishing antiques, marble, and silver, as well as flower arranging

  • Menu planning + shopping groceries and stocks

  • Cooking/baking of nutritious, family home style meals and for guests

  • Assisting with events hosted at the Estate from time to time and providing assistance to the Estate guests

  • Maintaining accurate records of suppliers, expenses, visitors etc

  • Driving duties, including airport runs

  • Overseeing repairs, maintenance, and contractors

  • Maintenance of outbuildings, swimming pool and vehicles

  • Maintenance of grounds, garden, lawns, borders, hedges, woodlands, lakes..

  • Ensuring there is sufficient security and protection at the Estate at all times day and night 

  • Liaising with the family office overseas


Requirements

  • Excellent housekeeping standards with a good understanding of caring for delicate materials

  • Confident family-style cook, ideally with Mediterranean experience

  • Ability to coordinate extra temp staff during events hosted at the property

When the family are away, working hours are typically Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Saturdays might also be required should there be an urgent or emergency work commitment at the property.


When they are in residence, hours will extend to approximately 7am to 9pm, with flexibility during these periods being essential.
