Caretaker / Assistant Facility Manager – Southampton, New York, $130k - $160k GPA

We are looking for an experienced caretaker / assistant for our UHNW client at their private estate in Southampton, NY. This is a fully staffed household, so the role would suit someone who is comfortable working as part of a wider team in a high-standard, service-driven environment.

This is a hands-on, primary caretaker role where you will take real pride in the day-to-day presentation, upkeep, and smooth running of multiple private residences. You will be the “eyes and ears” of the property: spotting issues early, responding quickly, and ensuring everything is always maintained to a guest-ready standard.
This is a great long-term opportunity for someone practical, proactive, and happy to get stuck in wherever needed.

Working closely with the Facilities director, you will support the ongoing maintenance and presentation of the estate, including interiors, exteriors, and outdoor amenities. The role is varied and very hands-on, with a strong focus on quality, detail, and consistency.

This is a live-out, year-round position, so applicants must already live within a commutable distance to Southampton.

Responsibilities:

  • Daily upkeep and general maintenance of interior and exterior areas

  • Light repairs, painting, minor demolition, and basic handyman tasks

  • Support with electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems (basic level)

  • Exterior maintenance including power washing, gutter cleaning, and detailing

  • Grounds support including light landscaping and seasonal setup

  • Care and upkeep of outdoor amenities (pool surrounds, courts, outdoor kitchens, furniture)

  • Vendor coordination and on-site support for contractors and service providers

  • Monitoring work quality and reporting issues to Facilities leadership

  • Running errands, stocking supplies, and keeping properties guest-ready at all times

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Has previous residential caretaking, estate maintenance, or trade experience

  • Has a solid working knowledge of home systems

  • Is detail-oriented, proactive, and self-motivated

  • Takes pride in high standards and presentation

  • Is comfortable in a physically active, hands-on role

  • Has a professional, service-minded approach

  • Is looking to settle into a long-term position

  • Speaks and writes fluent English

  • Has a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Education:

  • College Degree preferred.
