FACILITIES MANAGER, PRIVATE RESIDENCE Nr Milan, Italy, EUR60k gpa + accommodation

We are seeking an experienced and technically capable Facilities Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance of a large, sophisticated private residence near Milan. This is a hands-on role requiring someone who is genuinely technical, highly organised, and comfortable managing both complex building systems and the full range of practical requirements that come with running a private estate.

This is not a traditional handyman or house manager role. The right candidate will be a true facilities professional, someone who understands building infrastructure and can take full ownership of the property's operational needs.

The Property

The residence is a highly automated, state-of-the-art smart home with advanced integrated systems including a Building Management System (BMS), HVAC, home automation controls, audio-visual and sound systems, access control, and more. When something goes wrong, you will know instinctively whether it is a BMS configuration issue or a mechanical fault, and you will know exactly who to call if it is not something you can resolve yourself.

Key Responsibilities

Day-to-day management and monitoring of all building systems, including BMS, HVAC, home automation, AV/sound systems, and door entry and access control

Diagnosing technical faults across integrated smart home systems and coordinating appropriate specialist contractors where required

Managing, scheduling, and supervising all contractors and service providers on site

Carrying out and overseeing routine maintenance and general upkeep of the property and estate grounds

Acting as the first point of contact for all facilities-related issues, ensuring they are resolved promptly and efficiently

Keeping records of maintenance schedules, warranties, service contracts, and contractor details

Handling the full range of day-to-day practical tasks required to keep the property running smoothly

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm. The successful candidate should be available to respond to urgent issues outside of these hours on an occasional basis if required.

Accommodation in a staff flat in the local town is available if required.

The Ideal Candidate

Fluent Italian speaker (essential); English advantageous

Solid technical background in building management systems, BMS, HVAC, smart home technology, and/or AV systems

Experienced in managing contractors and service providers

Calm, discreet, and professional, comfortable working within a private household environment

Proactive and self-sufficient, with excellent problem-solving skills

Holds a valid driving licence

Salary

€60,000 gross per annum plus live out accommodation provided
