Live-in Domestic Couple – Country Property, Home Counties/Stanmore, £40K–£45K each DOE

We are looking for a warm, capable live-in domestic couple to care for a beautiful country property just outside London. The family have other homes overseas and are not in residence full time, so you will be trusted to keep the house running smoothly in their absence. The family already employ a cleaner, gardeners and a PA/family office. We have successfully placed staff with them before, and they are kind, respectful employers who are a pleasure to work for.

The role
You will look after a large, traditionally finished home, keeping it immaculate with support from the cleaner. This includes laundry and ironing to a high standard, polishing antiques, marble and silver, and arranging flowers. When the family are in residence, typically during school holidays, you will cook family meals using good-quality ingredients, handle driving duties including airport runs, and prepare the house for occasional dinners and guests. Behind the scenes, you will oversee repairs, maintenance and contractors, run errands and shopping, supervise temporary staff when required, and liaise with the family office, gardeners and cleaners.

The ideal candidate
Excellent housekeeping standards with a good understanding of caring for delicate materials.
A confident family-style cook, ideally with Mediterranean experience.
A confident driver.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Flexibility during periods when the family are in residence.

Start: Asap
Location: Home Counties/Stanmore, just outside London
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm when the family are away; approximately 7am to 9pm when they are in residence
Salary: £40,000–£45,000 each, depending on experience
Package: A beautiful three-bedroom cottage with a living room, dining room, private garden, garage and veranda, with all utility bills included
