Kitchen Assistant – Private Household in Central London
£45K GPA | 45 hours per week
A fully staffed private household in Central London is seeking a reliable, hardworking, and proactive Kitchen Assistant to join their team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in high-end or luxury restaurants as a Kitchen Porter or Kitchen Assistant, or in private households, with a strong understanding of the expectations and discretion required when serving UHNW clientele.
This role is hands-on and fast-paced, requiring a team player who can maintain the highest standards of hygiene, organisation, and service, while also supporting other household departments when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, pantry, and back-of-house areas
Wash dishes, glassware, cutlery, and kitchen equipment to a high standard
Support the chefs with basic food preparation and mise-en-place as required
Ensure stock of cleaning materials is well maintained and report when supplies are low
Handle deliveries, unpack and store goods in the correct locations
Assist with rubbish and recycling management
Provide occasional support to other household staff with ad-hoc duties (e.g., errands, moving furniture, light maintenance tasks)
Follow household protocols and maintain the highest standards of hygiene and discretion
Candidate Requirements:
Previous experience in a kitchen porter, stewarding, or housekeeping role preferred (private household experience an advantage)
Strong work ethic and a positive, “can-do” attitude
Flexible and willing to help across different areas of the household when needed
Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team in a fully staffed environment
Reliable, punctual, and discreet
Hours & Compensation: 45 hours per week, 9:00 am – 6:00 pm, five days per week (including one weekend day).
